Tivo Desktop Plus Gripe

I know this is kind of off topic, but I really couldn't think of anyplace this would fit.

I have yet to figure out how this free program (Beta 1) is so good, but yet Tivo Desktop Plus ($24.95) sucks to badly. I've been forced to use and and in over a day, it has converted 8 shows w/ another 50 currently converting on a machine with 3.4 Ghz Intel (PentiumD 945 (P) DC 3.4 GHz) chip w/ 2 gig ram.

Tivo Desktop Plus appears to convert each one as a separate thread and is currently running 50 threats w/ appearently only the main thread runs on both CPU's, all the rest are set to CPU 0 and can't be switched over to CPU 2. Each thread is using 31 to 21 megs of physical memory. I also currently have 5.5 gig page file use. Each thread also ranges in memory use from 743 megs to 66 megs virtual memory w/ a total of 8 of them currently using over 100 megs of ram. CPU 1 on my system has been maxed out everytime I've looked in over 24 hrs.

If it wasn't for the fact hyperthreading breaks the system into 2 CPU's, this system would have been unusable.

Tivo Desktop says the conversion process is at 58% done.
